Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Clippers, Game 7 Western Conference Semifinals. Unexpected end, but here we are. The Nuggets made their way out of the hole and tied the series to force a seventh game. The Clippers didn’t know how to finish off the Nuggets, they had the opportunity and they didn’t take it. The Nuggets may do the same thing they did against the Jazz.
Denver Nuggets: Last game.
The Nuggets did an incredible job. First against the Jazz, almost losing the series 3-1 in the end they won to advance to the next round. Now with the Clippers the same story and against a stronger opponent. They’re supposed to be playing the number one offense of the postseason. But the Nuggets have not been afraid of the Clippers. Game 6 was a resounding 111-98 victory.
The Nuggets offense is scoring just 107 points per game in the playoffs. 39 FG points, 13.4 three pointers, 80.6% free throw shots, 9.6 offensive rebounds, 6.2 steals, 4.5 blocks. Defense is sixth best of the postseason allowing just 109.8 points per game. 38.9 FG points and 13.4 three pointers.
Nikola Jokic led the sixth game with 34 points, 7 assists and 4 threes. Jamal Murray with his inconsistent game scored 21 points, 5 assists and a single three pointer. From the bench three players scored 30 points. The Nuggets were superior in field goal with 62.20% over the Clippers’ 47.4%.
Los Angeles Clippers: We can win.
The Clippers had the series in their pockets. The team had won the first, third, and fourth games to take a 3-1 lead. But it is inexplicable that it happened in the fifth and sixth games of the series. The players got too relaxed against the Nuggets. The last win against the Nuggets in Game 4 was 96-85. In that game the improvement in the opponent’s defensive work was observed.
But despite everything, the Clippers are still the number one on the offensive table. The team is scoring an average of 116.1 points per game. 41.5 FG points, 12.3 three pointers, 80.1% free throw shots, 9.3 offensive rebounds, 21.2 assists, 7.4 steals, 3.8 blocks and 13.3 turnovers. They allow up to 110.3 points per game with 39.9 FG points and 12.4 three pointers.
Kawhi Leonard contributed 25 points in the sixth game. Paul George 33 points and 3 assists. The team used almost every player on the bench except for Patterson. From the bench, 31 points were scored among four players. That strategy was useless against the Nuggets.
