The NHL is back in action on Saturday as the Edmonton Oilers will clash with the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The Oilers are heading into this game after a 4-0 win against the Blackhawks and on the other side, the Red Wings were able to beat the Devils at home with a score of 4-3.
Edmonton Oilers Form
The Oilers are one of the teams that were struggling at the beginning of the this NHL. They did not had a good start of the season but it seems that they have bounced back as they have won 7 of their last 10 games.
They will be reinforced with the comeback of Talbot and his presence can have a galvanizing effect on their defensive game.
Edmonton is placed on the 19th spot in the league in scoring at 3.00 goals per game and 13th. On defence, they are placed on the 12th spot in goals allowed at 2.83 goals per game.
They are the big favourites for winning this game and it will be interesting to see if they can keep their winning pace.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings are one of the teams that are not playing well this season.
However, they have been steadily improving lately and they were really solid in their last win against New Jersey at home by a score of 4-3. They were at 1-9 but now they have 3 wins in a row. It seems that their stats are also improving as their average in the last three games stands at 4.33 goals per game. A significant increase from the 1.90 goals per game at the start of the season.
On the offensive side of the game, the Red Wings are placed on the 26th spot in the league in scoring, putting up an average of 2.62 goals per game.
On the defensive side of the game, they are placed on the 27th spot in goals conceded as they allowed 3.69 goals per game so far this season.
Both of these teams have been playing well lately and their offensive record is on the constant rise in the last few games. The Red Wings are on a solid run and they have been playing well during those three wins in a row.
On the other side, the Oilers have been dominant in 7 of their last 10 games and I expect another solid performance by them. I think that both teams will aim for the win and that there will be more than 6 goals in total as both teams have been solid in scoring lately.
