Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints, Duel of the Titans. Two veterans play the last game of the divisional round. Tonight it seems that there are no strong favorites. But Brady steals everyone’s eyes for being the one with the most rings between him and Brees. But the home team is strong, lethal and they play well at home. The Saints had a good season and the team is looking for something bigger to close this season. The Buccaneers with Brady have a golden opportunity.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brady is the key.
The Buccaneers have 12 wins and 5 losses. The last victory was by the wild card against Washington 31-23. More than a game it was a litmus test for Brady on offense. The entire season has been positive for the Buccaneers, just two losses on the road this year. But the Bucs lost the first game of the season to the Saints 23-34 in New Orleans.
On the road the team is scoring an average of 32.78 points per game, 25.56 rushes with 104.44 rush yards, 27.33 passes completed for 323.89 yards. Offense is deadly in the second half with an average of 17.33 points. Mike Evans is listed as probable tonight. Evans is the WR leader with 1006 yards and 13 touchdowns. The defense allows up to 20.78 points.
Tom Brady is playing like he always has. With a game plan that he adapts to his offensive needs. Brady has 401/610 passes completed, 65.75% efficiency, 4633 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions for a 102.2 overall rating. They look like numbers from a young quarterback fresh from college football. 30 personal rushes for 3 touchdowns.
New Orleans Saints: We know how to win.
The Saints have the security of playing at home. The team has a positive record at home with 7-2-0. The last two home wins were against Vikings 52-33 and Chicago Bears 21-9. The game against the Bears was “expected” as difficult, but in reality the defense did an impeccable job. At home the Saints lost to two possible opponents in the playoffs: Packers 30-37 and Chiefs 29-32.
At home the team is scoring an average of 30.44 points per game, 30.11 rushes with 129.56 rush yards, 23 passes completed and 243.67 pass yards. In both halves the team is scoring almost 16 points, but in the 4th quarter the Saints are more efficient. The defense allows up to 23 points per game 23.78 rushes and 83.33 rush yards. Alvin Kamara is healthy.
Dree Brees is looking for another super bowl. But the rivals that he has in front are not easy. In case of winning against Brady, he will have to play against Rodgers. And to win against Rodgers the final will be played against (possibly) Mahomes. It is a long way. So far Brees has two touchdowns in the playoffs (against the Bears), 71.79% efficiency, 265 yards and 107.3 overall rating.
