New Orleans Saints vs. Chicago Bears, NFL Week 7. The Bears are favorites at home after losing the last game on the road against the Raiders. Now the home team has two games at home, double chance, to add a couple of wins to the record if possible. But the Saints are playing well, just one defeat for New Orleans and it was in the second week of the season. Three victories on the road for visitors.
New Orleans Saints: Against everyone.
The Saints have five wins and only one loss this season. The last four weeks the Saints won against Seahawks 33-27, Cowboys 12-10, Buccaneers 31-24 and Jacksonville Jaguars 13-6. This game against the Bears is the last on the road this month, then return home and play against the Cardinals and Falcons. 2-1 on the road so far.
On the road the Saints are scoring an average of 18.3 points per game, 23 rushes with 83 rush yards, 21 completed passes with 195.3 pass yards. The Saints are averaging less than six points per quarter, the second half being the best for the team with 9.6 points per game.
Drew Brees will not be available until week 10. For now, Teddy Bridgewater is doing a perfect job as a starting quarterback. 69.43% with 109 completed passes, 7 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions and 1089 yards. 98.4 overall rating. 16 personal rushes for only 32 yards.
Chicago Bears: The house first.
The Bears have no negative record at home, so far 1-1, but the first game of the season was in the primetime against the Green Bay Packers 3-10. In that game the Bears were favorites for only -3.0 points. In the second home game in the fourth week of the season, the Bears won 16-6 against the Vikings.
At home the Bears are scoring an average of 9.5 points per game, 24 rushes with 59 rush yards, 25 completed passes with 202.5 pass yards. The first half is the best that Bears offer at home with 6.5 points on average. The defense is strong, the team allows only 8.0 points per game, 19 rushes with 43.5 rush yards, 22.5 completed passes with 174 pass yards.
Mitchell Trubisky is likely to return for this game after suffering a shoulder injury (dislocation). For now in just four weeks the numbers are generous for Mitch with 65.09% for 69 completed passes, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, 588 yards, 5 rushes for 21 yards. If Trubisky returns in good shape, the team will surely benefit from his return to win more games.
