New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons, the most important game of thursday night football. Today the TNF offers 3 games, but the Saints-Falcons is the most attractive, not only for how well the Saints are playing at home, but because this game could continue reaffirming that Drew Brees is the MVP of the season. The Falcons have not had the best season so far, but win this game will have to say goodbye to the season.
New Orleans Saints: Indestructible.
The record in home of the Saints is in 4-1, the only defeat at home and the whole season was in the first week against the Buccaneers 40-48, it was a stupid game but the defeat made the critics think that the Saints they were going to have a bad season. After that defeat, the Saints won nine games without stopping. Most of the games have been relatively easy for Brees, 5-0 on the road so far.
Against the Falcons the last game was last year in Atlanta and the victory was for the Saints 43-37. In the last 4 games since 2016 the record is 2-2.
Drew Brees is the best QB of the season, better than Mahomes (67.5%) and Goff (67.7%). Brees have fewer yards in passes this year than the QBs mentioned above, but he has been much more effective in passes completed with up to 76.9%, 25 touchdowns and just one interception on the road throughout the season.
Atlanta Falcons: Near the abyss.
The Falcons have had a negative season, 4 wins and 6 losses so far. The last two weeks were defeats, one against the Browns 16-28 and another against the Cowboys 19-22 last week for a few seconds. The start of the season was not good either, a victory in the first five weeks. This year the super bowl will be in Atlanta and the Falcons will not play the final.
Matt Ryan has good numbers this season, 71.1% of completed passes, 3306 yards, 22 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The problem of the Falcons is that this season they have won only one of four games on the road, the last was against Cleveland Browns 16-28. The Falcons on the road are allowing up to 25.2 points, and the offensive barely manages to score an average of 20.8 per game.
