Los Angeles Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints, Monday Night Football. The Saints are still looking for wins after winning last week. The second and third weeks were a headache for the Saints. But the team continues to play the best football possible. The Chargers have a negative record but the season is young and they can still win more games.
Los Angeles Chargers: All or nothing.
The Chargers have just one win and three straight losses. The last loss was a heavy game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-38. The team has been unable to win since the first week against the Bengals 16-13. The future is tough for the Chargers if they continue to lose this way. After this game the team plays the Jets and Dolphins.
So far the Chargers are scoring an average of 20.75 points per game, 32.25 rushes with 125.25 rush yards, 23.25 completed passes and 275 pass yards. Up to 4.43 points per quarter. The first half is the most effective for the team with 12.75 points on average. The defense allows up to 23.75 points per game, 24.50 rushes and 110.75 rush yards.
Justin Herbert is the Chargers’ only option after Tyrod Taylor’s lung injury. The win against the Bengals was Taylor’s doing. All losses are thanks to Herbert. The investigation by the NFL continues, there is still no final verdict. Herbert has 77/107 completed passes, 931 yards, 5 touchdowns with 3 interceptions.
New Orleans Saints: We can win today.
The Saints playing at home have the advantage. But this season just a two-game win at New Orleans. The only home win was against the Buccaneers 34-23. After that victory two consecutive losses against Raiders 24-34 and Packers 30-37. Last week the team came out of the losing streak winning against the Lions 35-29. After this game the Saints play the Panthers and the Bears.
The team is scoring an average of 30.75 points per game, 28.75 rushes with 120 rush yards, 23.25 completed passes and 251 pass yards. The Saints score up to 19.75 points in the first two quarters. The defense allows up to 30.75 points with 27.25 rushes. The defensive game is weak in the second half, the team allows up to 18 points.
Drew Brees remains the same. With good numbers, but this season with little luck in the first four weeks. 92/129 passes completed, 71.32% effective, 1006 yards, 8 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. Brees leans on Alvin Kamara with 50 rushes, 236 yards and 4 touchdowns. In receptions, Kamara leads the table with 30 and 3 touchdowns.
