Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens, first game of the second week, the Bengals already won on the road in Indianapolis by more than 10 points. Last season the record was not negative, but neither was the best result since the season ended with slightly negative numbers. The Ravens also won the first game of the season against the Bills, they are not favorites to win today against the Bengals, but they could cause damage during the first half.
Cincinnati Bengals: We want to play well this season.
The Bengals last season ended the year with 7 wins and 9 losses, 47.1% of effectiveness. The last 5 weeks of last season were heavy, the team suffered a lot and barely won 2 out of 5 games, they lost to Browns, Steelers and Bears. The game of the first week of this new season was difficult from the start, 10-13 in the first half in Indianapolis, but the Bengals scored 24-7 in the second half to close the game 34-23. Against the Ravens last year they played twice, in the first and last week, they lost at home 0-20 but they won at Baltimore 31-27.
Andy Dalton will start tonight against the Ravens, after having had a good performance on the road against the Colts in a difficult game that he knew how to try to get out of the difficulties. Even the numbers for Dalton are 243 yards in passes, 2 touchdowns and a single interception. At home the Bengals finished 4-4 last season, but at home they are 9-1-1 ATS since November last year.
Baltimore Ravens: The second week is good for us.
Last season the Ravens closed the year with 9 wins and 7 losses, 56.30% effectiveness and were second in the AFC North. In the division games the Ravens were 50% effective and 3-3, another similar percentage was on the road overall 4-4. Before this game the Ravens won against the Bills, it was a game totally dominated by the Ravens in each of the quarters. For this game against the Bengals, the team is not favorite, they just have a line of -1.0 which indicates that it will be a tight game from the beginning.
Joe Flacco has had a good start to the season, 236 yards passing, 3 completions to touchdown and zero interceptions. The problem of Flacco is not having enough support from the offensive despite having good players the team has always had trouble scoring points, last season they had an average of 4.7 for each quarter. The record in TOTALS between the Bengals and Ravens is 19 overs and 25 unders from 1999, and 4-1 in the unders since 2015.
