Toledo Rockets vs. Central Michigan Chippewas, game of the west division at the MAC conference. The Rockets hope to win this “easy” game at home against the worst team in the conference and the last of the division. So far the Rockets have a positive record and last week they won easily against Kent State. The visitors have not won any divisional games and barely have a victory all season.
Toledo Rockets: Bowl Dreams.
The Rockets so far have six wins and five losses this season, 4-3 in the West Division of the MAC. The Rockets have done a decent job to win in the last 4 weeks against Ball State 45-13, WMU 51-24 and against Kent State 56-34 last week. The only defeat in was before the victory against Kent State, the Rockets lost 38-15 against NIU. Thanks to the victory against Kent State, the Rockets have become eligible for the bowl.
The story is in favor of the Rockets against the Chippewas, 18-9-1 since 1990. In the most recent games the Rockets are 5-0 against the Chipewas, also in the ATS 5-0-0.
Eli Peters took over for more than a month, so far the numbers have been positive for him with a record of 5-4 in the season. 55.8% in completed passes, 1393 yards and 14 TDs with only 3 interceptions. In the last game at home, Peters suffered 4 interceptions against Ball State, but the Rockets won the game.
Central Michigan Chippewas: Another defeat.
The Chipewas have wasted an entire season, so far the team has a losing streak of seven games against: Buffalo, Ball State, MSU, WMU, Akron, EMU and Bowling Green last week 24-13. The Chipewas’s only victory was in the fourth week against Maine 17-5 at home. The team is last in the division with a record of 0-7.
Tony Poljan has been a poor quarterback this season, and the Chippewa defense has also been a failure. Poljan’s numbers are ugly with 51.7% of completed passes, only 2 TDs and 5 Interceptions. Last week I only completed 39 yards in passes and an interception against Eastern Michigan.
