Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, Game 6 Western Conference. The Rockets hope to finish this round tonight. The team will use one of its main tools to try to finish off the Thunder. But so far there are no “hard” favorites for the sixth game of this round. The Thunder continue to attack the Rockets’ weak points with positive results.
Houston Rockets: All or nothing.
The Rockets won the fifth game 114-80, it was a victory by more than 34 points. The message from the Rockets was clear: “We want this to end.” But the Thunder won Game 3 and Game 4 on slightly less offense than the Rockets. The first two games of this round were dominated by Houston with victories by more than 10+ points.
The team is averaging 116.8 points per game in the playoffs. 40.6 FG points, 19.2 three pointers, 79.8% free throw shots, 22.6 assits and 43.6 rebounds. The defense in the playoffs is allowing up to 104.4 points, 11.2 three pointers, 36.6 FG points and 16.6 assists. In the regular season the Rockets lost two games to the Thunder.
James Harden leads the team with 31.8 points per game in the playoffs, 35% free throw shots, 83.7% free throw shots, 48.6% FG points. Green and Gordon are over 15 points, with Gordon being the closest to twenty points with 19.4 points per game. Russell Westbrook barely had a game in this round.
Oklahoma City Thunder: This is possible.
The Thunder want a seventh game. The team is clear that tonight the only objective is to win at all costs. But the last loss, in the fifth game of the round, left many doubts about the Thunder’s strategy against the Rockets. The statistics between the Thunder and the Rockets are basically similar. The Thunder also have a veteran at the helm like Chris Paul.
The Thunder’s numbers are inferior but they have been enough to win a couple of times this round. The team is scoring an average of 104.4 points per game, 36.6 FG points, 11.2 three pointers, 76% free throw shots, 16.8 assists and 50.4 rebounds. The defense allows up to 113.8 points and 36.4% three pointers. Defense is number 10 on the playoff list and offense is number 12.
Chris Paul is a veteran who knows how the Rockets play. Paul is averaging 20.4 points with 32.3% threes, 80% free throw shots, 49.4% FG points. Schroeder is second best on the list with 19.4 points per game. Noel leads the bench with 3.4 points per game and 42.9% FG points this season.
