The Nuggets lost only one quarter, but the game was tight from the start. The Nuggets defense did an incredible job at home to maintain the positive record. The Trail Blazers made a great effort, but were stopped by the sixth best defense of the league. The strategy remains the same, but the Nuggets are not as easy as the Thunder.
Denver Nuggets: Unstoppable at home.
The Nuggets have only one home loss in these playoffs. But that defeat against the Spurs is a thing of the past. The team has been reinvindicated winning the first game of the round at home. The first quarter was 32-32, but the second and third quarter were dominated by the Nuggets. The fourth quarter the team lost 28-29 but that did not work for the Trail Blazers. The Nuggets won 121-113. That’s the third victory against the Trail Blazers this season in four games.
At home during the playoffs the average is still high with 105.8 points per game, 39.00 FG points, 76.6% free throw shots, 8.80 three pointers, 24.40 assists. The defense is the sixth best allowing up to 99.0 points at home in the playoffs with 37.60 FG points and 7.20 three pointers per game.
The ATS record is 3-2-0 this season in the playoffs. Two point spreads completed at home. Against the Spurs as favorites and the last against the Trail Blazers also as favorites. Again they will be favorites at home. Against the Trail Blazers in the regular season they completed 2-1-1 in the spread.
Portland Trail Blazer: Nothing to be afraid of.
The Trail Blazers know that the Nuggets are much more complicated than the Thunder. That series was nothing compared to what it is to play against the Nuggets. The first game really was not so bad for the Trail Blazers. The reservers scored the same number of points as the Nuggets bench. The performance was similar. Lillard scored 39 points and Kanter 26. The effectiveness in the field goal was slightly better than the Nuggets with 58.90%. The offensive rebounds were also positive for the Trail Blazers with 25% against 18.4% of the home team.
On the road the record is negative, only one victory in three games. The Trail Blazers are allowing up to 110.7 points per game on the road during the playoffs. 39.00 FG points, 12.67 three pointers, 81.1% free throw shots and 18.00 assists. The defense is one of the worst in the playoffs allowing up to 113.0 points on the road. The last victory in the playoffs was against the Thunder ten days ago.
The ATS record is also negative with 1-2-0. The Trail Blazers have not been favorites playing on the road in the playoffs. Against the Thunder they were underdogs twice. Against the Nuggets will be underdogs tonight but by half a point less. The historic ATS record in the playor is negative with 11-23-1 since 2003.
