The NBA is back in action today as the Toronto Raptors will clash with the Brooklyn Nets in the Big Apple.
The Raptors are heading into this game after an 84-76 road loss to Miami Thursday night. And on the other side, Brooklyn was defeated 123-111 on the road by Dallas in their last game Thursday night.
Toronto Raptors Form
The Raptors are heading into this game after a disappointing defeat against the Heat. The reasons why it is a disappointing loss is that their defensive game was pretty good. However, the offensive gameplan did not have the desired effect for the Canadian team. And now, the Raptors are on the 2nd spot in the Atlantic Division with 2.5 games behind the Celtics. Also, on a positive side, they had Serge Ibaka in this game as he led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the loss against the Heat.
On the offensive side of the game, the Raptors are 16th in the league in scoring offence with 110.5 points per game this season. Toronto has 46.2 rebounds per contest combined with 24.9 per game.
On the defensive side of the game, the Raptors are 4th in the league in scoring defence by allowing 105.3 points per game.
Brooklyn Nets Form
The Nets are heading into this game after a defeat in the game against the Mavericks. Moreover, they tried their best to contain Doncic but failed in going so. Now, the Nets are on the 4th spot in the Atlantic Division, 8.5 games behind Boston in the standings. The positive side is that Spencer Dinwiddie led the Nets with 19 points in the loss.
On the offensive side of the game, the Nets score an average of 110.6 points per game which is enough for the 15th spot in the league in scoring. Also, they have an average of 48.8 boards combined with 23.8 assists per game. On the defensive side of the game, the Nets concede an average of 111.7 points per night.
Prediction
The Raptors are not the same team from last year. However, they are still among the best ones in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors will miss Siakam, Powell and Gasol, but they still have the quality to beat the Nets. Therefore, I expect a Toronto win and 5th defeat in a row for the Nets.
