The NBA is back in action today as the Oklahoma City Thunder will clash with Houston Rockets.
After the playoffs restarted, Houston cruised to a 114-80 victory in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead on Saturday. On Monday night, the Thunder, with their backs to the wall, scratched out a 104-100 win to force this decisive Game 7.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
The Thunder showed great character as they won Game 6 and forced a final 7th game in this series.
It was their main man, Chris Paul that led the Thunder with 28 points and seven rebounds in the victory.
He has an average of of 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds plus 4.2 assists per contest. Therefore, the expectation will on him to perform in this game in order for the Thunder to progress.
On the offensive side of the game, the Thunder score an average of 104.3 points per game. Oklahoma City is first in rebounding as they pull down an average of 50.5 boards per contest and they have an average of 16.8 assists per night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Thunder concede an average of 111.5 points per game in the postseason.
Houston Rockets Form
The Rockets had momentum after winning Game 5 in one-sided fashion. However, they let it slip away down the stretch in Game 6. Now, Houston needs to get back on winning ways in order to avoid an end of their season.
They will once again rely on James Harden as he led the Rockets with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the loss in-game 6. Their talisman also leads the team with 31.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 7.8 assists per contest in the playoffs.
On the offensive side of the game, the Rockets are 10th in the league in scoring offence as they put up an average of 111.5 points per contest. Also, they have 43.2 boards per contest and 22 assists a night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Rockets concedes an average of 104.3 points per contest.
Prediction
All in all, this was a great series between two teams that did their best. The Thunder managed to get a game 7 and that was unexpected. However, the Rockets are the better team and I expect a win for them in this game. After all, Oklahoma is struggling offensively and that will make the difference in this game.
