Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors, NBA Finals Game 1. The end of the road starts today, especially for the Raptors. The first final for Canadians. The Raptors played well all season, especially in the playoffs at home. Against the Bucks the story was not as difficult as many expected. The defending champions already know what it is to win several finals. The Warriors did not have the best season but here they are, in another final looking for another title.
Toronto Raptors: We have a dream.
The Raptors this season at home had a record of forty wins and only eleven losses. The best thing was a winning streak of 10 games without losing at home. In addition, the Raptors already know what it’s like to win against the Warriors at home. Last year in November 2018 they won 125-107 against the Warriors in Canada. That was the only game against the Warriors this season. In the playoffs the record was also positive, only two defeats and eight victories.
This season of the playoffs and finals the Raptors are scoring an average of 107.9 points per game, 38.80 FG points, 82.6% free throw shots, 12.30 three pointers with 24.00 assists. The home defense allows up to 95.8 points per game, 32.90 FG points, 74.4% free throw shots, 10.50 three pointers and 20.70 assists. At home everything looks solid until now. Five consecutive wins in the playoffs and conference finals.
The ATS record in the playoffs and finals is 7-3-0. Against the Bucks the record was perfect in three home games 3-0-0. But only in two games the Raptors were favorites. In the two games as favorites at home they had -2.5 and -2.0 in the spread. As underdogs the Raptors had +2.5 in the spread. Against the Warriors the only game of the regular season the team was favorite with -8.0 but could not complete the points despite winning the game.
Golden State Warriors: We know how to win finals.
The Warriors closed the regular season with a positive record on the road. 33 wins and only 16 losses. The champions had problems in the first ten games on the road of the regular season. The Warriors suffered a losing streak of six games, but also a winning streak of eleven games. Little by little the Warriors were recovering on the road. In the playoffs the record was also positive with six wins and two losses. The only two victories on the road were against the Rockets. The title of the conference was easy against the Trail Blazers 4-0.
Between the playoffs and finals the Warriors have left good numbers on the road. 118.8 points per game, 44.12 FG points, 80.5% free throw shots, 11.88 three pointers, 28.38 assists. The defense was not the best but they only allow up to 110.9 points on the road, 39.25 FG points, 73.0% free throw shots, 13.75 three pointers and 22.12 assists.
The ATS record is 4-4-0 in the playoffs. Against the Trail Blazers in the conference finals they could barely complete one of two on the road. The team was underdog in the third game with +2.5 and were favorites in the last game with -2.5 in the spread. But that last game they could not complete.
