The NBA Eastern Conference Finals are starting today and as I predicted before, the Raptors will clash with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Raptors had to fight really hard as they eliminated a strong 76ers team in the semifinals. And on the other side, the Bucks rolled over Boston in 5 games.
Toronto Raptors Form
The Raptors are having a good season so far. However, they had to dig deep in order to pass through the 76ers in the 7th game of the series. It was a very interesting game with a spectacular 3 point finish in the last seconds by Kahwi Leonard to the Raptors in the Conference Finals. Leonard also led Toronto with 41 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the victory. But his final three-pointer made this game to go into the history as an NBA Classic…
However, the Raptors are facing their main rivals for the top spot in the conference. They were chasing the Bucks all season but their efforts were futile.
On the offensive side of the game, the Raptors score an average of 103.6 which is the 10 best record in the playoffs this season. Also, they have 41.8 boards per game and 22.3 dimes per night.
On the defensive side of the game, they concede an average of 96 points per game. Therefore, this is the 1st record in the league in scoring defence.
Milwaukee Bucks Form
The Bucks are in a great form this season. They started the series against Boston with a defeat but they showed their class as they won the next 4 games. This is a good team and there is more to come from them. Also, they have the in-form Giannis Anetokoumpo as he has been their talisman this season. He led the team with 20 points in the last win against the Celtics with 20 points, 8 rebounds and eight assists in the game.
On the offensive side of the game, the Bucks score an average of 116.9 points per game in the postseason. Therefore, this record is the 2nd in the league in scoring in the playoffs this season. However, this is a strong team in rebounds as their average stands at 52 per game which is the best in the league this season.
On the defensive side of the game, the Bucks concede an average of 101.6 points per game. Therefore, this is the 3rd defensive record in the league in the playoffs.
Prediction
As we have expected, the Raptors and the Bucks will clash in the final. Many were awaiting this duel in the playoffs and the expectation is that the finals will bring a lot of excitement. The Raptors have improved their defensive game and it seems that that is their main weapon along Kahwi Leonard. On the other side, the Bucks have been in commanding form throughout the season. Also, their record against Toronto is good this season. Therefore, I expect the Bucks to win this first game of the Eastern Conference Finals.
