Today’s MLB Game Prediction: Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets – Baseball Pick for July, 12, 2018

The MLB is back on Thursday as the Washington Nationals take on the New York Mets at Citi Field in New York in game one of a four-game series. The Nationals will give the nod to Max Scherzer and the Mets will counter with Steven Matz.

The Washington Nationals are going through a bad patch at the moment. Their struggles continued on Wednesday as they lost in the last game of the series against the Pirates with a score of 2-0. It seems that the Nationals will aim to find some reinforcements in the offence department before the deadline as they are dropping their pace in the MLB.  Washington has averaged 4.33 runs per game and has allowed 3.80 runs per game on the road so far. The New York is also a team that is struggling this season. It seems that they are paying the price for the various injuries this season. However, they surprised the Phillies in the last game as they managed a comfortable 3-0 win. This win is a very important achievement for them as it came right before the start of the series against the Nationals. The Mets have averaged 3.04 runs per game and have allowed 4.22 runs per game here at home for the year so far.

The Nationals are not in a good form right now. I was expecting that they will bounce back in the previous game against the Pirates, however, they lost that game with a score of 2-0. On the other side, the Mets are struggling right now and one win against the Phillies will not change the fact that they are not in a good form. The Nationals are a serious team and it is just a matter of time about them getting back on winning ways. This game against a struggling team like the Mets will be an ideal opportunity for the Nats to bounce back. Go for the Nationals in this one.
