New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins, third game in the series. The Marlins have the third worst record in losses of the entire season. The Marlins never had a chance to recover and win games. Next season will be key to planning a new strategy and taking the team to a new destination. All that surely with new manager. The Mets are not so bad, overall positive record and also positive at home.
New York Mets: Closing the season in positive.
The Mets are not looking for the playoffs. The team is focused on closing the season with positive numbers. At home the record is 43-31 so far. Before this series against Miami Marlins, the Mets lost a series against the Dodgers 1-2 at home. But after that last series at home the Mets won four of six games on the road. Three winning series against the Marlins this season, just a lost series on the road against them.
In September the Mets are 12-8 overall, but the best month for the team was in August with 17-11. Against the Marlins the record is 9-4 overall this season. In the last series the Mets won four games at home against the Marlins. The offensive scored 23 runs and the defense allowed only eight runs in four games.
Jacob deGrom 10-8 in 31 games as starter. deGrom has had good numbers this season with 2.51 ERA, 197.0 pitched innings, 152 hits, 59 runs, 19 home runs, 248 strike outs (league leader), 0990 WHIP.
Miami Marlins: We are a shame for the city.
The Marlins have nothing to celebrate this season. On the road the record is negative with 24 wins and 50 losses. At home the numbers are also black with 30-51. This season has been a complete failure for the Marlins. In the first 20 games of the season, the Marlins won only five games. That was the warning sign that this season was going to be bad for the Marlins.
Every month they were negative for the Marlins this season. June 13-14 was the most decent month the team had this season. In September everything has been negative with 6-14 overall. Before this series against the Mets, the team lost to Nationals, Arizona and Giants. The Marlins have not won a series on the road since September 5 against the Pirates.
Robert Duggert in the mound tonight against the Mets. This is the first year as a professional for Dugger. 0-3 in 6 games as starter. 32.1 pitched innings, 4.45 was, 22 strike outs, 27 hits, 19 runs, 5 home runs and 22 strike outs. 1299 WHIP. The last game was a defeat against the Nationals less than five days ago.
