The MLB is back in action today as the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs will play the second game of their four-game series here at Wrigley Field.
New York Mets Form
The Mets are in a good form at the moment. After an average start, the Mets managed to get their season on track. Moreover, they still have a chance for a playoff spot. However, a piece of positive news is that Jason Vargas will be back in action today on the mound in this game.
Also, their offence is constantly improving as they have scored at least eight runs three times over the past week.
Chicago Cubs Form
The Cubs are one of those teams that had a slow start of the season. Moreover, it seems that this will be a hard season for them. After the slow start, they managed to improve their results. Yet, it seems that they have taken a few steps back as their results are not good enough at the moment.
But the good news is that Yu Darvish will be back in the squad to take the mound here in this game. However, Darvish needs to improve as he is not playing up to the expectations based on his contract.
The Cubs will need to improve their offence as they Chicago have just 18 runs over their last six games.
Prediction
The Mets have a good chance to win this one. Also, Vargas is in better form right now compared to Darvish.
On the other side, the Cubs are not playing up the expectations this season. Also, it seems that they are facing a drop in their form. Therefore, I will take the Mets to win this one.
