The MLB is back on Wednesday as the Miami Marlins will face the Francisco Giants at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California in game three of their three-game series. The Marlins will give the nod to Jose Urena and the Giants will counter with Derek Holland.
Miami Marlins Form
The Miami Marlins are one of the worst teams in the MLB this season. It seems that they just can’t get their form this season as their record is not at the desired level. However, they were able to start well in this series as they won the first game against the Giants with a score of 5-4. Yet they were not able to keep that momentum as they lost the second game with a score of-of 6-3. The Marlins have averaged 3.63 runs per game and have allowed 5.66 runs per game on the road so far.
Jose Urena record against the Giants stands at 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in three games (two starts), including 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in two games (one start) at the AT&T Park.
On the offensive side of the game, the Marlins form this season has been poor as they are placed on the 30th spot in the league in scoring, putting up 3.53 runs per game, while also holding the 24th spot in hitting at .235 and 30th place in homers with a total of 56 so far. On the mound, they have poor stats as they are placed on the 25th spot in the league in ERA at 4.77, while also holding the 23rd spot in WHIP at 1.39 and 22nd place in K’s with 580.
San Francisco Giants Form
The San Francisco Giants are one of the average teams this season. Their form has been inconsistent and it seems that they are facing the same problem in this series as well. They did not have a good start as they lost the first game with a score of 5-4. The bounced back in the second game as they won with a score of 6-3. It will be interesting to see how they will fare in this game as they have been playing hot and cold this season. San Francisco has averaged 5.00 runs per game and has allowed 4.35 runs per game at home for the year.
Derek Holland record against the Marlins stands at 0-1 with a 67.50 ERA in one start. Holland is 1-2 with a 4.60 ERA in six career starts in the away games against the Marlins.
On the offensive side of the game, the Giants have been poor this season as they are placed on the 23rd spot in the league in scoring, putting up 4.14 runs per game, while also holding the 6th spot in hitting at .255 and 19th place in homers with a total of 76 so far this season. On the mound, they are placed on the 20th spot in the league in ERA at 4.18 while also holding the 22nd place in WHIP at 1.33 and 24th place in K’s with 554.
The Marlins are one of the worst teams in the league. However, they were able to win the first game of this series. On the other side, the Giants are not consistent this season. Yet I believe that the Giants have the better offence and that will be the key for a win in this game. Go for the Giants in this game.
