The MLB is back on Friday evening as the Chicago White Sox will clash with the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium in game two of a five-game series. The White Sox were the better team so far as they won the first two games of the series. The White Sox will give a start to the 24 years old Dominican pitcher Reynaldo Lopez. And on the other side, the Royals will counter with Danny Duffy.
Chicago White Sox Form
It was expected that the White Sox will have a solid start of the season. But, so far they have been in a bad form. Chicago has been poor so far, as their pitching is the main problem. The Sox will head into this game having lost nine of their last 10 games and they have scored just 29 runs in those games. Their offensive power is not good at the moment. However, these games will be a great chance as they are facing a bad Kansas City pitching abilities.
On the offensive side of the game, The White Sox have been in a poor form as they are placed on the 23rd spot in the league in scoring, putting up 3.67 runs per game, while also holding the low 17th spot in hitting at .236 and 14th spot in homers with a total of 25. On the mound, their stats are also very poor as they are placed on the low on the 30th spot in the league in ERA at 5.74. The White Sox are also placed on the 30th spot in WHIP at 1.60 and 29th in K’s with 158.
Kansas City Royals Form
The Kansas City Royals also had a bad start of the season as their record so far stands at 5-17. Their away form is also poor as they stand at 4-8 so far. However, the biggest problem of this Kansas City team is their home form as their record on their ground so far is 1-9. The Royals are also facing several offensive challenges this season. Their average currently stands at 2.42 runs per game in their last seven home games. The pitching has also been poor so far as they have allowed 6.64 runs per game over their last 14 games
The offensive stats of Kansas City are poor so far this season as they are placed on the 28th spot in the league in scoring, putting up just 3.27 runs per game, while also being placed on the 16th spot in hitting at .237 and 27th in homers with a total of 18 so far. On the mound, their stats are also poor as they are placed on the 27th spot in the league in ERA at 5.18, while also ranking 23rd in WHIP at 1.41 and 30th in K’s with 146.
All in all, it is easy to conclude that these two teams are one of the worst the Major League so far. However, these series can be a good opportunity for one of them to gain momentum and improve their form and overall standings.
The offences of both teams have been poor so far, but I expect this to change in this game. The reasons behind my prediction are based on the stats that show that the White Sox have allowed 7.00 runs per game in their last 10 games. On the other side, the Royals have allowed an average of 6.90 runs per game over the same stretch. Combined with that, the result of 6-3 on Thursday can be seen that both teams see their chance in these games to improve their standings.
