The MLB is back in action this afternoon as the Atlanta Braves will face the San Francisco Giants in game three of a three-game series at the AT&T Park in San Francisco.
The Braves will give the nod to Anibal Sanchez and he will be opposed by Derek Holland.
Atlanta Braves Form
The Braves are having a good season so far. They have won 4 of their last 5 games and they are at the top spot in their division. However, heading into the playoffs, the Braves will need to fix their pitching as it seems that is their weak spot.
The Braves averaged 4.70 runs per game and have allowed 3.84 runs per game on the road for the year.
Anibal Sanchez record against the Giants stands at 4-1 with a 2.13 ERA in six starts, including 3-0 with a 0.36 ERA in three starts here at AT&T Park.
On the offensive side of the game, the Braves have been very good as they are placed on the 9th spot in the league in scoring, putting up 4.75 runs per game, while also being on the 3rd spot in hitting at .260 and 16th spot in homers with a total of 164. On the mound, they have been decent as they are placed on the 9th spot in the league in ERA at 3.73 while also being on the 13th spot in WHIP at 1.28 and 9th in K’s with 1265.
San Francisco Giants Form
The Giants have been poor lately. They will head into this game with a terrible record as they lost the last 10 games in a row. It seems that the offence was the key element that leads to their downfall as they have averaged only 2.67 runs per game.
The Giants have averaged 4.26 runs per game and have allowed 4.07 runs per game here at AT&T Park so far.
On the offensive side of the game, the Giants have been bad this season as they are placed on the 27th spot in the league in scoring, putting up an average of 3.85 runs per game. The Giants are placed on the 24th spot in hitting at .241 and 28th place in homers with 125. On the mound, they are on the 12th spot in the league in ERA at 3.87 while also being on the 15th spot in WHIP at 1.29 and the 22nd spot in K’s with 1137.
The Braves are playing well and it seems that they will finish at the top spot in their division. On the other side, the Giants are terrible lately with defeats in the last 10 games. All in all, I expect a dominant performance by the Braves. Go for the Braves in this one.
