And last week the game was tight against Pittsburgh 17-10 at home. The first games at home, relatively easy with the advantage of playing at home. So far the Lions are in 12th place of the AP Poll.
This season the Nittany Lions are scoring an average 47 points per game, 33.7 rushes with 192 rush yards, 18.3 completed passes with 281 pass yards. The team is averaging up to 10 points per quarter this season. The defense allows only 10 points, 37 rushes with 70.7 rush yards and 252.7 pass yards.
Sean Clifford with good numbers in his second year as quarterback. 58.7% with 44 completed passes, 781 yards, 6 touchdowns without interceptions, 172.5 rating. Clifford has also run 25 times for 113 yards. The best game so far was against Buffalo with 16-22 in passes, 72.7% and 4 touchdowns.
Maryland Terrapins: We don’t want to lose at home.
The Terrapins have a positive record so far with 2-1 overall. This will be the first home conference game. After this game the Terrapins will play against Rutgers and Purdue on the road. The first two weeks of the season were victories against Howard 79-0 and Syracuse 63-20. The loss last week was against Temple 17-20 on the road. The last time the Terrapins won against the Nittany Lions was in 2014 by a 20-19 point on the road.
The team is scoring an average of 53 points per game, 46.3 rushes 277.3 rush yards, 18 completed passes with 260.3 pass yards. The first three quarters the offense is scoring up to 14.5 points per quarter. The defense allows only 13.3 points, 35.3 rushes with 73.7 rush yards and 224.7 pass yards. The last home game against the Nittany Lions was a 66-3 loss in 2017.
Josh Jackson has been playing well as starting quarterback. 51% with 51 completed passes, 724 pass yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Jackson closed last week with 134.2 quarterback rating. So far only one interception at home.
