Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos, American Football Conference. Saturday football day thanks to the coronavirus. Strange day, we are not used to watching football this day. But the Bills want to win to have a stronger position in the division. The only danger for Buffalo is what the Dolphins can do. For now the road is safe for the Bills. For the Broncos, this season was a failure for them.
Buffalo Bills: First place.
The Bills are on a hot streak of three straight wins. The last victory was against the Steelers in a surprising 34-24 game at home. The Bills were “underdogs” in that game, but they took a hard hit in the conference. So far the Bills’ record is 10-3-0, the last three wins were against the Chargers, 49ers and Pittsburgh. The Dolphins are close at 8-5-0 in second place in the division.
Offense averages 27.75 points per game with 25.33 rushes and 102.33 rush yards, 25.33 passes completed and 276.58 pass yards. The first half is the most productive for the Bills with 15.25 points on average. Stefon Diggs is having a good season with 1,167 yards and 100 receptions with 5 touchdowns. The defense allows only 25.50 points per game, 27.08 rushes with 125.92 rush yards, 23.58 passes completed and 249.50 pass yards.
Josh Allen is in his third year as a professional, and this is the second season with the most games as a starter. Last year the record was also good at 10-6-0, but this year things are going much better for him. 323/471 passes completed, 68.58% effective, 3641 yards, 28 touchdowns and 9 interceptions, 103.3 overall rating. 93 rushes for 350 yards and 6 touchdowns. Josh is averaging 2.15 touchdowns per game.
Denver Broncos: Dull.
The Broncos have another season without good results. The team continues to have trouble finding a good quarterback, or at least a good offense. Last week the team won against the Carolina Panthers 32-27 on the road. That victory ended a two-week winless drought. The last games of the season are against the Chargers and the Raiders. The Broncos will close the season with numbers similar to 2019.
The team is scoring an average of 18.75 points per game, 27 rushes with 118.92 rush yards, 18.92 passes completed with 206.67 pass yards. The highlight of the offense is the second half, the Broncos score up to 11 points in the last quarters. The defense is not the worst of the season, but they allow up to 26.67 points per game, 28.83 rushes with 131.50 rush yards. Last year the Broncos lost 20-3 to the Bills in Buffalo.
Drew Lock so far has not shown all his talent. The season is not good for him, 185/323 passes completed, 57.28% efficiency, 2198 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, 74.8 overall rating. It can be ruled out that Lock was injured for three weeks. 32 personal rushes for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. Lock’s worst game was against the Raiders in Week 10 with 4 interceptions.
