Their pitcher choice for this game should have been Masahiro Tanaka. However, he is doubtful for this game due to injury. If he gets the start, it is important to emphasize that Tanaka made 32 appearances, 31 starts, last season with the Yankees, going 11-9 with a 4.45 ERA, a 1.242 WHIP, 40 walks and 149 strikeouts over 182 innings of work. Patrick Corbin will take the nod in this game. He made a total of 33 starts for the Nationals in the regular season last year. His record was 14-7 with a 3.25 ERA, a 1.183 WHIP, 70 walks and 238 strikeouts over 202 innings. In the postseason, he made eight appearances, three starts, going 2-3 with a 5.79 ERA, a 1.414 WHIP, 12 walks and 36 strikeouts over 23.1 innings of work.
Prediction
Although the Nats will be without Rendon and Soto, their offensive game is still good. They showed that in the second game. And the winning momentum is on their side. They are the champions and are the favourites to win this game. On the other side, the Yankees has a great lineup but their starting rotation is in flux right now, especially with Tanaka being doubtful for this game. Take the Champions to win this one.
