Fridays are always special, Fridays are hot days to bet, and one of the most striking games for this day will be Clemson Vs. Kansas, it will be lucrative if we know how to predict the best result for this game, but first we must analyze each of the pieces on each team, it is not easy, we are talking about March Madness and Sweet 16.
Tigers as underdogs (+4.5)
Omaha is neutral territory, but the Tigers are still underdogs for a couple of things. First, the Tigers are No. 5, and they will face a No. 1 like the Kansas Jayhawks, it will not be an easy game for the Tigers, although they already won on Sunday a No. 4 (auburn 84 -53), it is not the same to face a No. 1. Another very important point to note is that Kansas Jayhawks has a winning streak of 5 games, all those games they have won solidly, almost all for more than 6+ points.
Not everything is negative for Clemson; the best thing the Tigers have to offer is defense, # 19 in the national ranking of defensive efficiency while Kansas is ranked # 93 in the list. Clemson has always been an efficient team defending, although Kansas has had better ranking in the scores and points per game list.
Clemson Tigers is scoring an average of 73.30 points per game, 34 points first quarter and 37.9 second quarter. Defensively the Tigers block 4.88 attacks on average, 7.48 offensive rebounds, and about 33.18 rebounds. Steals are important, and if the team manages to convert those steals into points we could talk up to 8-10 points for an average of 5.6 steals per game.
Kansas Jayhawks No. 1 (-4.5)
Kansas (28-7) has had an exceptional regular season and during March Madness they have established a winning streak of five games: Oklahoma St, Kansas St, W Virginia, U Penn and Seton Hall. At the conference, Big 12, Kansas has collected 16 wins and 5 losses, not bad for a team that has the potential to advance in the brackets and win the title.
Playing against the Tigers should not be a problem for the Jayhawks; the coach knows that most Clemson players are transfers from other schools, which makes them an unstable team with less preparation. In addition, this game is a semifinal (Mildwest Regional) and the Kansas boys know how important it is to beat the Tigers.
Kansas as a team is solid, 81.4 points per game on average, 16.9 assists, 57.9% field goal, 14.5% turnover, 6.7 steals, and 40% of 3pointers. Kansas knows the defensive power of the Tigers, but the difference is very small compared to the amount of points they can score in a game.
It will not be easy to predict who will win the game, but the numbers are on the Kansas side, the spread does not seem reliable, it’s not worth such a high spread with Kansas and certainly Clemson does not have much chance of winning this game in Omaha.
Prediction: Kansas Jayhawks (moneyline)
